Ariel Pietsch, 11, of Escanaba, beloved daughter of Jennifer Pietsch, big sister of Jaxon, and little sister of Delanie, gained her wings on Thursday, January 25th at St. Vincent Children's Hospital in Green Bay, surrounded by her family and friends.
Ariel was born on November 22, 2006. Ariel was a 5th grade student at Bark River Harris. She loved playing basketball, swimming, and being in the water. Ariel loved campfires, listening to music, and playing football with her mother. She loved animals with a particular fondness for cats. She had a big heart, and was a helper, always finding the good in others and LOVED being a big sister! Ariel would befriend anyone, especially those she recognized really needed a friend.
Ariel's light will continue to shine through those who love her, especially her mother, Jennifer, sister, Delanie, brother, Jaxon, and grandparents, Bob and Katie. She also leaves her beloved Aunts Hollie and Amanda, Uncle Dominic and Aunt Traci, and Aunt Jackie. Ariel was also loved by her many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10th from 10 AM - 1 PM at Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S.13th Street, Escanaba. A Memorial Service celebrating Ariel's life will follow at 1 PM in the funeral Home. Interment will be private. In honor of Ariel we ask to please come in jeans or something comfortable and wear PURPLE!
In honor of Ariel a college fund will be set up for Jaxon. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Or if you prefer you may make contributions to the St. Vincent Children's Hospital Child Life Services, which can be accessed online at https://stvincentchildrenshospital.org/Medical-Services/Child-Life.aspx. Items on their wish list may be brought to the funeral home during visitation baskets will be available.
Ariel's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and love for the unbelievable care and compassion given to Ariel and Jennifer's family and friends from the staff of the St. Vincent Children's Hospital PICU and Child Life teams and all of the health care providers who cared for Ariel.
