Anthony J. Priewe

December 8, 1943 — October 8, 2021

Anthony "Tony" Priewe, 77, passed away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was born to the late Paul and Laura Priewe on December 8, 1943 in Green Bay, WI.

Tony was a graduate of East De Pere High School class of 1962. After graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed overseas in Turkey as well as Andrews Air Force Base in Washington. 54 years ago, he met the love of his life, Carol Yuhasse. They were married on February 17, 1968 at St. Bernard Church in Riverdale, MD and together they raised their two wonderful children: Mike and Beth. After a long career in the transportation industry, Tony retired from the Green Bay Correctional Institution in 2010. He loved spending his days going fishing, playing golf, and playing duplicate bridge with friends where he later earned the titles of Life Master and Player of the Year 2015. One of Tony's greatest joys in life was being a grandfather to his three grandchildren: Haley, Carter, and Jordan. Over the years, he taught them how to fish and play cribbage where he fleeced them for a penny a point. One of his favorite activities was decorating Christmas cookies with the grandchildren. Tony and Carol enjoyed fishing and traveling together over the years. Tony was a very caring and helpful person and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a great sense of humor and was "full of sass."

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children: Mike Priewe and his daughter, Jordan (Drake) Barbosa; Beth (Dave) Woods and their children: Haley and Carter Woods; his siblings: Virginia Mongin, Richard Priewe, Lorraine Smits, Loretta Meyers, and Margaret (Tim) Eggen; a sister-in-law, Janis Priewe; a brother-in-law, Bill (Thelma) Yuhasse and a sister-in-law, Dottie McVaugh. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Dan Priewe and David Priewe; siblings in law: Ambrose Mongin, Gerda Priewe, Hank Smits, Denny Meyers, Phyllis Priewe, and Bill McVaugh.
