Anthony E. Hamernik, age 89, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was born February 12, 1933 in Manitowoc County to the late Anton and Lillian (Ledvina) Hamernik of Maribel (Rosecrans) WI. Anthony worked as an electrician in Manitowoc and later in Green Bay for various contractors.
He graduated from Denmark High School in 1950 and continued with an electrical correspondence course. After retiring, he volunteered for theatres, Discover Greater Green Bay and St. Vincent De Paul. He also was a member of the Western Fraternal Association #108 (Better Life) of Denmark for over 75 years and an active member of St. Bernard Parish for 48 years.
Spending time with his family camping, fishing and hunting, he so enjoyed. He also enjoyed shooting sporting clays with his sons, his brother, David and grandchildren.
He married Audrey Junio, May 7, 1955. Audrey preceded him in death, January 10, 2019. Anthony will be sadly missed by his 5 children: Anne (John) Beardall, San Diego, CA, Alan Hamernik, Green Bay, WI Amy (Brad) Truskowski, Eagan, MN, Ava (Nick) Marks, Sherwood, WI and Andy (Joelle) Hamernik, Madison, WI and his 7 wonderful grandchildren: Hal, Jesse, Jaime, Zachary, Michael, Austin and Aubrin. He is also survived by his beloved brother, David (Jeanne) Hamernik, Zionsville, IN, brother-in-law, Tom Junio, Luxemburg, WI, sincere sister-in-law, Diane Junio, Green Bay, WI and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Anthony is preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Dorothy (Eddie) Mancheski and Carolyn (Bill) Stanelle.
Visitation will be held at St. Bernard Parish (2020 Hillside Dr., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10 to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM with Fr.
