Angeline Marie Allard, 80, Green Bay, entered eternal life Tuesday, June 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 28, 1942 to the late Bert and Minerva Aboud (Hindy). Angeline grew up in Detroit, Michigan and often shared many stories of her youth in The Motor City. Most notably was her time in The Guardian Angel Home, an orphanage she resided for four years after her fathers passing. It was there she learned many life lessons and where she found her love of gardening. Angie's garden was immaculate. She had an exceptionally green thumb and a knack for growing the biggest and most beautiful plants. If you visited in the summer months you left with more fresh veggies than you knew what to do with. She would say "find someone to give them to". You did not leave empty handed any other time of the year either. Angie often asked "Do you need anything?" and it didn't matter what your response was. She would immediately begin gathering items from her cupboards and refrigerator. Her generosity was relentless and she didn't take no for an answer. Angie loved Elvis Presley. She was fortunate enough to see him live in 1956 at The Fox Theater. It was something she never forgot despite her battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. Angie was a very lucky lady. She loved playing bingo, and always shared her winnings with others. Growing up in Detroit fostered her love of fast cars. She especially loved reminiscing about drag racing her Pontiac GTO, Trans AM, and Dodge Charger. Those who had the privilege of going out in public with Angie were sure to be stopped many times by those who knew her as the Angel of Paul's Pantry. Angie began volunteering at the pantry in 1985 where she met founder Leo Frigo and a year later became the first employee. The rest is history. Angie dedicated 38 years to Paul's Pantry. She took great pride in serving her community. She also really, really loved to drive the forklift and large delivery trucks. Angie adored the children who came into the pantry. She would tell them they were her adoptive grandchildren, and she meant it. Angie was such a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman of strong Catholic faith and reminded those around her we are all God's children. Angie received an Apostolic blessing from the Vatican by Pope John Paul II in 2003 for her dedication to her community. She even made it on The Glenn Beck radio show in 2013. The Carmelite Nuns of Denmark were near and dear to Angie's heart. The nuns were very much a priority in Angie's weekly routine. Her Thursday, and Sunday visits brought her much delight. Our family is grateful for their love and prayers. Angie's quick wit, benevolence, spunk, tough as nails exterior, and devotion made her truly one of a kind. Surely Angie could never be replaced, but if you are able, please make time to volunteer. The pantry and your community need you. Angie was an angel among us and is now reunited with family and many loved ones in heaven.
Angie is survived by her loving children: Marie (Chris) Allard, and William Allard; siblings: Beverly (William) Dombrowski, Carolyn (Richard) Schultz, Elaine Duerden-Roerink, Michael (Connie) Ignasiak, Linda (Sean) Delaney; grandchildren: Colleen Richmond, Amanda (Dan) Zegers, Bret Allard, and Jeana Allard; great grandchildren: Issaic Allard, Michael Allard, Mason Richmond, Ezekiel Zegers, Gianna Zegers, Alexander Richmond, and Yasmina Zegers; dear friends who were very much her family: Mavis Mier, Craig Robbins, Bob Hornacek, Leslie Sharkey, and the many volunteers who make up the Paul's Pantry Family.
Angie is now reunited with her parents; sister, Delores Ernest, and many dear friends.
Deepest gratitude to Angie's daughter, Marie for her exceptional care, unwavering support, and dedication to Angie. Her selflessness will never be forgotten. Our family would also like to express our gratitude for the entire staff at Unity Hospice for their superior care and support.
