Andrew C. Steiner, 26, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 2, 2013, due to his heroism. He was born August 28, 1986, in Green Bay, son of Douglas and Nicole (Ritz) Steiner. He graduated from Bay Port High School with the class of 2004. Andy proudly joined the United States Army in 2006 and served two tours overseas in Afghanistan and Kuwait. Andrew enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his parents; brother and sisters: Samantha (Josh) DuBois, Kevin (Katie) Armstrong, and Lyssa (Mark Swenty) Steiner; niece, Emma Rose DuBois; paternal grandfather, Thomas Steiner; paternal grandmother, Penny (Roy) Dettman; maternal grandparents, Orville and Diane Ritz; uncles and aunts, Shawn and Corey Steiner, Brett (Loriann) Ritz, Diane (Brian) Puymbroek, Linda (Kirby) Vanden Burgt, Patricia (Randy) Webb, Robert (Lori) Ausloos, and Kristine (Andy) Ritzenhein; and many other relatives and friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joanne Steiner.
Family and friends may call Friday, February 8, 2013, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2066 Lawrence Dr., De Pere, from 10:00am until 3:00pm. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday at the church at 3:00pm with Pastor Eric Hansen officiating. Full military honors will follow the service.
Andy's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital and all of his friends, especially Matt Miller for being there for Andy in his time of need.
In honor of Andy and his favorite color the family has requested for people to wear something lime green "neon".
