Alice (Allie) Marie (Bernetzke) Heuvelmans had her prayers answered as she left this world and journeyed to join the Lord and other beloved family members on March 20, 2015. Allie was born on May 21, 1930 in Green Bay, WI to the late Ida Mary (Ness) Bernetzke-Toth and William Paul Bernetzke. She married Vernon (Cully) Heuvelmans on September 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2013.
Allie had numerous jobs in her lifetime, but the most rewarding "paying job" was those where she cared for the residents in assisted living or nursing homes. The residents loved her and she them. But it was her family that she lived and sacrificed for. She was selfless when it came to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Vicki (Albert) Manders; Theresa Monfort; Linda (Robert) Cox; Joyce (Daniel) Diestler; and daughter-in-law Vicki (Coenen) Heuvelmans. Grandchildren: Amy (Craig) Stevens; Jason (Spring) Manders; Aaron (Sarah) Manders; Denny Monfort; Brent (Emmaly) Monfort; Jessica (John) Kruk; Nicole Diestler, Justin (Angela) Heuvelmans; Casey Heuvelmans; Whitney (Andrew) Reps; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Siblings include Lois (Earl) Pruit-Fluhr; William Bernetzke, Betty (James) Peot; Linda (Don) Harvey; Thomas (Janet) Breunig; sisters-in-law Shirley Geurts, Betty Heuvelmans and Virginia Heuvelmans.
Allie was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon (Cully) Heuvelmans and her only son, Robert (Bob) Heuvelmans; great-grandchild Aliina Alice Manders (daughter of Jason and Spring); sisters Frieda (Robert) Pappe; Barbara (Floyd) Paape; sister-in-law Janice (Bill) Bernetzke; sister-in-laws Loraine (Sylvester) Doro; Arlene (Kenneth) Cormier; brothers-in-law Roman (Shirley) Guerts and Roland (Betty) Heuvelmans and Richard Heuvelmans.
Allie was blessed with caring family and friends. Her sister Frieda Paape along with Frieda's family, Becky Paape, Debbie (Gerard) Meunier, Annette Paape, Howard (Vicki) Paape and William (Christina) Paape were always there for Allie. Long time family friends Helen (Kussow) Van Noie; Mary (Kussow) Vanden Berg, and Donna (Kussow) Lefebvre always found the time to visit and bring treats.
Allie's family wants to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Birch Creek Assisted Living and Unity Hospice for their care and support during a very difficult time.
The family sends special thanks to Pastor Cindy Warmbier-Meyer of Calvary Lutheran Church for her caring support and prayers.
Mom, we couldn't promise you that we wouldn't cry. Our tears are happy one's for you and so very sad for us. Losing you hurts so much. Your prayers, and ours for you, were answered. You were always there for us, and we know that you will continue to be. We love you to the moon and back! Your girls.
