Alexander Christon

August 12, 1989 — July 25, 2016

Alexander "Alex" M. Christon, 26, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2016. He was born August 12, 1989 in Milwaukee to Kelly O'Connor and the late Keith Christon. Alex attended Baird Elementary School and graduated from Preble High School in 2007.

Alex was very active in the community. Growing up, he was an altar server at Ss. Peter & Paul Parish and contributed to many other church activities, as well as being a member of the Knights of Columbus. He could be seen almost every Saturday and Monday attending church at St. John The Evangelist Parish. In high school, he was the coaching assistant for the Green Bay Preble football and basketball teams. After graduation, Alex started assistant coaching for the Green Bay West Football Team until 2014. A sports enthusiast, Alex held a special place with the Bullfrogs as well as the Blizzard teams. He could always be found in front of the television on Packer game day. Alex was also very active at the Green Bay YMCA and became fast friends with everyone he met.

Alex will be remembered for his inspiration, helping hand, quick smile, and his ease of conversation with everyone. He inspired us all with his courage and willingness to overcome any obstacle. Alex loved people-strangers, friends, and had a very special relationships with his sister, Sierra, and grandmother, Elaine. He was grateful to his mother for everything she did for him in the last few years.


Survivors include his mother, Kelly O'Connor of Green Bay; his two sisters, Sierra Christon of Green Bay and Stephanie Christon of Milwaukee; brother, Keith Christon, Jr. of Milwaukee and his grandparents, Michael O'Connor of Green Bay and Robert (Gloria) Christon of Milwaukee. Alex was loved by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Alex was preceded in death by father, Keith Christon and his beloved grandmother, Elaine O'Connor.

Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Friday, July 29, 2016 from 3 to 5:45 PM. A prayer service will follow at 6 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home, Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 9-10: 45AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST PARISH (413 St. John St., Green Bay, WI), Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 AM.
