On Friday, September 16th, Albert Grajeda, faithful servant of the Lord and loving father, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 58.
Albert was born on January 25th, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to Mary and Roberto Grajeda. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1982. On May 9th, 1987, he married the great love of his life Katrina Grajeda. Together, they had and raised their nine children. Albert had five daughters: Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Anastasia, Gianna, and Elliana. He also had four sons: Nathan, Matthew, Andrew, and Joseph. Albert worked in various positions throughout the years, including realty and truck-driving, all the while continuing to be a life-long learner and engaging his mind through his greatest passions: theology and apologetics.
Albert loved nothing more than the Lord and his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the of the Legion of Mary. Evangelizing was important to him. He was also a drummer in several bands in his early life and continued his love of drumming and music throughout his life, often playing in "jam sessions" with his sons. He laughed frequently and freely and would smile mischievously before cracking his next joke. His insatiable curiosity caused him to be an avid reader, and he enjoyed discussing whatever he read and discovered with those around him. He loved lively debate and dialogue and could often be found with a group gathered around him discussing life's great mysteries and truths late into the night.
Albert was a follower of Christ. He was a husband, a father, and a friend. He was a man of strong belief and principles with an unquenchable search for the Truth.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers: Robert Grajeda, Javier Grajeda, and Hector Grajeda; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; his spouse Katrina Grajeda; and their nine children: Gabrielle Diffenbaugh, Elizabeth Diffenbaugh, Nathan Grajeda, Matthew Grajeda, Andrew Grajeda, Joseph Grajeda, Anastasia Payne, Gianna Grajeda, and Elliana Grajeda. Albert is also survived by his twelve grandchildren with two more on the way.
