John M. Jarvi

John M. Jarvi, 74, Green Bay, was taken to his heavenly home on August 14, 2013.
John was born on March 7, 1939, son of the late Nick & Marie Jarvi. He graduated from Amasa High School in 1957. He married Lucille on August 22, 1964.
After graduation, John attended Badger Business College for 2 years, obtaining an Associated Accounting Degree. He then started his banking career with Wisconsin State Bank for 3 and a half years, resigning from them and moving to American National Bank. After going through three name changes and 27 years later, he again resigned as V.P. and took a position with Union State Bank in Kewaunee as V.P. and cashier. He retired from Union State Bank on July 1, 1999. He was in the banking business for 40 years. He was also past president of American Institute of Bank, Past Treasurer for Wisconsin Installments Bankers, a member of the West Green Bay Lions Club and a past member of the Kewaunee Lions Club, holding different positions with each club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and car racing and enjoyed these things with his family & friends. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play softball, soccer, baseball and basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; daughter, Pamela (Scott) Griffin; son, Jeffery (Terri) Jarvi and their children Derek, Kelsey and Morgan; son, Chad (Theresa) Jarvi and their children Trent and Jordyn.
Friends may call from 9:00am until 11:00am on Monday, August 19, 2013, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., Green Bay. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday at the church with Rev. Scott Malme officiating. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the Ashwaubenon Rescue, the ER staff and the ICU staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their care during this difficult time.
They would also want to thank Layman Marshall Conrad, Deacon Nick both from St. Mary's and also Pastor Malme for their help and prayers during the difficult times.
